Railway construction and repair is the main area of activity of GoTrack. We have long-term experience in this field and special machinery and equipment necessary for performing this work at our disposal: lifting and tamping machines, gravel ballast correction machine, excavators moving on railways and different carriages. Since we operate in several fields of infrastructure construction, we are able to guarantee high quality of the work performed.
Railway maintenance belongs to our everyday operations. Our maintenance teams have obtained respective training and are equipped with the hand tools necessary for this work. We use more and more machines in performing the maintenance, for example for mowing roadsides of tracks, snow clearing and for tamping with a tamping machine. We also perform maintenance work of communications systems and railway protection equipment.
Building of railway level crossings and pedestrian crossings
We have built level crossings and pedestrian crossings with wooden pavement and asphalt and have used rubber or concrete boards. Our skills in engineering designing and building communications systems and protection equipment enable us to install crossing gates and automatic traffic signalling on railway level crossings.
Engineering design and installation of switchblade heating and drives
In order to ensure traffic reliability we install heaters and drives on switchblades that help to prevent the formation of ice on parts of the switchblades. We installed the heaters and drives on switch points in the Võhma and Kohila stations.
Our employees have a long-term experience in thermite welding of rails and releasing rails from pressure, i.e. neutralisation of rails. We also perform surfacing of railheads. We have been trained by welding experts of VR Track, the largest railway building company in Finland.
Snow clearing on machines and manually
We use trolleys equipped with a snowplough or snowbrush for clearing snow on open tracks and station sidings. We clear overall dimensions of the railway. Excavators and loaders moving on railways use attached snowbrushes and trenching buckets with various sizes for clearing and transporting snow.
The largest projects we have performed are the reconstruction of railway between Türi and Viljandi (52 km), the building of 15 passenger platforms and the building of the branch line of the railway of Transiidikeskuse AS at Muuga Harbour.
Reconstruction of railway between Türi and Viljandi
Replacing track superstructure (rails, sleepers, ballast gravel); the work included the reconstruction of crossings and passenger platforms, clearing of ditches, repairing of bridges, culverts and welding and neutralisation of rails. Total length of the railway under complete overhaul was 52 km.
Building a railway network at Muuga Harbour
We established in cooperation with Lemminkäinen AS 2.3 km of new branch lines of railway and several crossings, built electrical lighting and installed eight switch points.
Reconstruction of passenger platforms to European height
In 2013 we reconstructed altogether 15 railway passenger platforms across Estonia. The work included demolition of old platforms, repair of railways, work related to communications systems and protection equipment and building of the infrastructure belonging to the platforms (exterior lighting, shelters, access roads, parking spaces).
